Draw a sprite in the browser
Open a blank canvas, paint frames, and send the strip to Clean. No sheet to drop first.
Drawing, preview, and GIF export are free. Unmarked PNG needs Basic ($4.99 once).
You do not need a messy sheet to use SpriteFix. Draw Pixel Art opens a blank 64×64 canvas in the same board as the cleaner. Paint with the color brush, add frames and layers, watch onion skin, then Download this Frame from Create. Download GIF once you have two poses. Send to Clean only if you want the cleaner. Free downloads carry a watermark. Sign in and pay Basic once when you want the unmarked PNG with your name. Remove background stays on dropped sheets, not on a drawing you paint from scratch.
Sound familiar?
- Wanting a first sprite without installing a desktop pixel editor.
- A walk cycle that only exists in your head, not as a sheet yet.
- Opening a cleaner and being asked to drop a file you do not have.
- Losing frames because a sheet detector ran on handmade art.
How to do it in SpriteFix
Open a blank canvas
Click Draw a sprite, or the Draw Pixel Art tab. You land on the canvas, not the drop zone. Size starts at 64×64; change it on CANVAS.
Paint the poses
Brush, eraser, fill, rectangle, circle, and lasso are on the right. Add frames, layers, and onion skin. Hover a control to see its key.
Download from Create
Save keeps the draft on this browser. Download this Frame saves the pose you are on. Download GIF or Download as Spritesheet when you have two. Send to Clean only if you want the cleaner to treat the drawing as a sheet.
Play and download
Create plays the loop. Download a GIF to check timing. Free PNG is watermarked. Basic is $4.99 once for an unmarked file with your name.
Sign in only when you pay
You can draw without an account. Sign in when download asks for unmarked PNG, or open Get Basic from pricing.
What you get back
- A PNG strip of the poses you painted, equal cells, no reclean.
- Frames, layers, and onion skin on the same board as the sheet cleaner.
- A GIF of the loop to post or check timing.
- Sprite data JSON named like the PNG on Basic, with animation names and frame times.
- The same unmarked-download plan as cleaning: Basic $4.99 once.
What it will not do
- This is a beginner canvas, not a desktop pixel editor. No tilemaps, scripts, or linked cels.
- Remove background is for dropped sheets. On Draw Pixel Art, size is CANVAS, Crop keeps a box on the frame you are on, and empty pixels are Eraser.
- Exports are PNG. We do not write JPEG or WebP out.
- SpriteFix does not generate art. You draw; dropped sheets are cleaned.
We would rather tell you the limits here than have you find them after paying. Full list in the limitations chapter.
Free to try. $4.99 once to keep it clean.
Process, preview, and play as much as you like for free — free PNG downloads carry a watermark. Basic removes the mark for life for $4.99 paid once. Pro is $14.99 once, or $10 to upgrade from Basic, and adds grid cutting, per-frame ZIP export, and bigger batches. There is no subscription.
Questions people ask
- Do I need a sprite sheet to start drawing?
- No. Draw Pixel Art opens a blank canvas. Drop a sheet only when you want the cleaner.
- Will Send to Clean reclean my drawing?
- Send to Clean flattens the frames you painted and hands the strip to Clean. Detect runs only because you sent it. Try a different cut is the switch if you want another job on that strip.
- Is drawing included on Free?
- Yes. The canvas, frames, layers, onion skin, eraser, and color brush are free to try. Free downloads have a watermark. Basic removes it for $4.99 once.
- Can Unity or Godot use what I draw?
- Yes — download the PNG strip. Sprite data JSON is Basic. Unity can slice with the helper script in the ZIP (Tools → SpriteFix → Slice From JSON). Godot reads that JSON only through an importer plugin.
